The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government initiative aimed at addressing fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions. This scheme mandates that energy companies implement energy efficiency improvements in residential properties. ECO4 represents the latest phase of a continuous government effort to aid low-income households, enhance energy efficiency in homes, and achieve the UK’s carbon neutrality objectives. The program is scheduled to continue until March 2026.
Golden Globe Holding, in collaboration with EDF, is partnering with Waltham Forest Council to upgrade homes in the borough to high energy standards. The ECO4 funding is specifically aimed at homes with low or poor energy efficiency, particularly those rated at band E or below on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The ECO4 Scheme’s goal is to deliver funded energy-saving measures to vulnerable households.
